Back in Phoenix
11 July, 2010
We got back to Phoenix last night. The travels went well, except for a few annoying instances on the plane:) but that always happens so no big deal!
Today we woke up early, of course since we are a bit jet lagged from the 3 hours east coast time difference. I rather have it that way though than the other way jet lag. Of course, the morning still had to brogan with coffee and breakfast. We had a whole lot of nothing at home so we went to whole foods to get some good bread from the bakery, cheese and salami. FYI they don’t open until 7 am in the mornings, but we got there only 10 minutes before so we did not have to wait that long. We were going to get some coffee bend from our favorite coffee spot here in Scottsdale, Press Coffee, but they were not open either so we had to go to Starbucks for our espresso beans. I guess that will do:)
After breakfast and opening 2 months worth of mail, I went to the pool for an hour. Of course, I got burned on my back. I only exposed my back to the sun for about 30 minutes but I guess that was enough for me to turn lobster! I also had a nice tied knot on the back of my bikini, so of course that is now left on my back until next time I get out in the sun. I know, what an amateur, I should and could have guessed that it was going to leave marks on my back. Ah, well. Not to worry! It is still better than the golfers tan;)
In the afternoon I was watching the US Open on tv. As much as it sucked that I did not play myself, I enjoyed watching it on tv. The only thing that is boring is that they show the same two or three people the whole time. I know it is the people in the top but it is fun to see more than just a few. I am happy for Paula for her win! She did so good and she has worked hard for this, it is a great comeback from he injury and I wish to congratulate her to her first major win!!
Tonight we went to Michaela, Court and Max’s place. It has been quite long since we saw them (beginning of May!). Max walks now and has so much energy, he is really cute! He is such a happy baby and it makes it so much more fun to us to see him when he is so happy to see us!
Oh, I forgot to mention that we went to the gym today as well. I have not been very good with keeping the strength up the past two months and I felt it at the gym! I have gotten a lot weaker but I know I can get strong again with some work. I have just not had the energy or time to spend hours in the gym every week when we have been on the road. This session today also made me realize that I was actually rally strong this winter, I know I can get back there again.
Now I am ready for bed, new exciting day tomorrow!
