Oakmont day 3
7 July, 2010
Tomorrow is the big day, the start of the tournament! I feel ready to play. I have one all the work I could these past days and now I just just have to go play. It will not be ab easy week by any means, it will be a test of game and character where patience will be one of the key components to a successful week.
This morning I repacked our things since we are sending the car to Phoenix tomorrow. I am so glad we don’t have to drive all the way back, it will save us so much time and energy! It turned out good. Hopefully everything will go smoothly with the transportation of the car and we will have our “baby” home by next week:)
After repacking a bit and having oatmeal at the house we left for the golf course. I was scheduled to play in the afternoon but once I got there I saw that there was an opening on 1st tee and I went ahead and played earlier instead. It was perfect, almost no one on the side I was playing and I played the 9 holes with Jill McGill, we had a good time. Then after getting done I had lunch and then headed out to walk the back nine and just chip and putt and making sure I have the correct landing areas of the fairways and the greens…now all I have to do is to hit the ball to those spots;)
Now we are back in the house and I am sitting in the couch with a cup of coffee, of course. Tonight we will go out to dinner with our family for the week and then get a good nights rest.
It has been so warm this week and it is supposed to continue to be warm until Friday, when some thunderstorms are moving in. I tee off early that day so hopefully I don’t have to deal with that too much, but you never know. I think that meteorologists are the one profession who can be the most wrong and still have their job;)
Thanks to all the spectators who have been out there so far this week watching us play our practice rounds, and also thank you to all the volunteers who devote their time to finding our balls in the rough, keep the waters and Gatorade cool, cheering us on and just being really helpful in general:)
So as I wrote yesterday, we have Lexus courtesy cars this week and it is, of course, a very nice ride! There is this bridge tha is called he Hulton bridge (I think) and it so narrow and I am so scared that I will scratch the car when a truck comes in the other direction…but so far so good…
Have a great week everyone and I will see you all at Oakmont!
