Welcome to Louise Friberg

"Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want"

I got a lot of experience last year! Most of the year felt like an uphill battle. Fortunately 2009 is done and over with and 2010 is a year I am looking forward to!

Louise Lollo Friberg

This winter I have worked very hard on both my game and also on my physical abilities.

The fact that I did not get what I wanted last year motivated me even more this winter to get the process going to get my game back to where it belongs and then some!

I went back to Sweden to reconnect with my coach Rikard Fors. We took a break in 2009 but now back working together and it feels great!

He is a big part of why I even made it to the LPGA tour so I am happy that we are working together again. read all »

Thank You all for you support and I will see You on the course!

Scottsdale Half Pipe Baby!

21 August, 2010

So my game is totally going in the right direction! Partly because of my putting…believe it or not I actully put a new putter in the bag on Tuesday (I barely ever make changes in my bag!). The outter of choice is the new PING Scottsdale Half Pipe. It just sits so well on the ground and is easy to aim with. I love it!!

Yesterday I had 28 putts and today 26 putts. I know it might not seem all that awesome to be all excited about but compare to the 32 or so putts that I have had more or less every round through the year, then it is a remarkable improvement.

Portland, Oregon

18 August, 2010

We have now been in Portland since Sunday night, and it has been a pretty hectic week so far. Hectic in a good way!

On Monday I played in a Pro-Am on the tournament course. We all had a grest time and tied for first, but in a tie they go back on the scorecard from 18 and compare to determine the winner we ended up in 4th just out of the prices for the amateurs. Darn! We had a great time though!! Thanks for round of really fun stories (I know not to drive my Jag thru a carwas…) and thanks for the wine that was in my locker today!!!! What a treat:)

Phoenix is hot!

14 August, 2010

So I went to practice at Moon Valley today, well I knew it was warm out, I mean…I could feel it. But nothing prepared me for getting dizzy after 2 hours even though I drank plenty of water. I guess my body is not used to the heat.

It is easy to underestimate the heat, which I did today. So I had to call it a day after two hours (I got some stuff done though) and then went home to replenish. Of course, in the afternoon I was good to go again and a visit to the gym was a must.

Back in Phoenix

14 August, 2010

After a smooth trip with free upgrade all the way from cph-iad-phx we landed on Thursday night. Gustafs bags did not arrive, but got delivered yesterday.

When we had our layover at iad it was pouring down rain! The outside crew who are supposed to direct the plane to it’s gate were not even outside, our captsin made it clear he was not happy about it but as he could not do anything about it we just kindly had to sit and wait the 20 minutes or so it took for the weather to pass. The good thing is that we made our flight since everything got delayed there!

Leaving Sweden tomorrow:(

11 August, 2010

Today was the last day of our trip to Sweden for this summer. It has truly been one of the best summers here for a long time. We have had such a good time with friends and family and I am so grateful for all the wonderful people I have around me here at home! Not only have we had some great dinners and games with friends, there had been lots of laughter and memory sharing.

The weather has been beautiful for most of the time, and for some reason, when the sun shines in Sweden everyone comes out of their hibernation and they come out happy. Of course, in the wintertime it is different:) The picture to the right is the view from the 4th teebox on my home golf course where I grew up. It is literally 10 yards from the beach and the island you see in the horizon is Ven (where the astronomer Tycho Brahe had his headquarters back in the day).

9 holes early and bbq tonight

3 August, 2010

I drove to Falkenberg this morning to practice a bit with Rikard. Of course I had to start the day with some seriously strong coffee since I was more tired than I should. I got stuck in front of the tv last night watching a show that was not even good. But you know when you are past the point of time at night when you are simply too tired to go get ready for bed and you just end up on the couch laying like a veggie. That was me last night, but of course, at some point I had to get up and go to bed, it got too cold without covers. … read all »

Sunday afternoon in Sweden

1 August, 2010

We got back last night to Sweden and the travel went good. Not only was the plane on time but our bags made it and were fast as well, which is not always the case at CPH (Copenhagen Airport). Since my parents had some friends over at their house last night, they were not able to pick us up so we took the train to Helsingborg where Lunkan picked us up and took us the the house. We dropped off our stuff and then headed into downtown where we hung out at Lunkans place for a while. Then Gustaf and Lunkan wanted to head out on the town for a while so I drove them to the heart of town and dropped them off, to then drive home to sleep.

Today we slept until 11!! I cannot remember last time I slept for that long. I was so tired last night and it was some good rest I got for sure. Of course, we wanted to have some good Swedish “breakfast” and went to the store to get some “real” bread and cheese. It was so good! Yummy! So now we are just hanging out having a relaxing Sunday afternoon.

Later today there is not much going on either. It was been quite warm today but thunder seem to be just around the corner so maybe we will be dumped on later today, so no sitting outside having dinner:(

See you all soon!

Back to Sweden today

31 July, 2010

So today we are heading home to Sweden. Since there was no play for me this weekend it is nice to be able to go back to Sweden and hang with friends instead of being stuck here in the rain and cold. The course was so nice! I really enjoy links golf and wish I could have played the weekend, but I have to wait until next time I guess.

Right now there are a few of us who are sitting in the clubhouse hanging out and talking about everything and nothing. It is fun to catch up with friends who play in Europe that I don’t get to see all that often.

I played quite well yesterday, well except for the last two holes where I had to take one unplayable, and then tried to go for the birdie on the last I put it too far and missed my next one for par. It was horrible weather yesterday afternoon. It was rainy from the second hole until the very end of the round. Sometimes during the round the rain came down pretty hard too, but it is what it is. Sometimes you get lucky with the draw and sometimes you don’t. This week was a don’t for me:)

So tonight we don’t really have anything planned, just travelling home to Sweden and hopefully have a good dinner when we get back. I am looking forward to have a few games on my home course before heading back to Phoenix. On Tuesday next week I will go see my coach, I have not seen him since last time I was home in May so it will be good with an update.

First day Royal Birkdale done!

29 July, 2010

So I had a great start to the day, was 2 under after a few holes. I still plaed good the rest of the holes, just made a few bogeys for no reason but misjudging wind around the greens. No big deal:)
It was loads of fun today even though it was cold, windy and rainy…but that is GB for you! The courses are set up for wind and it is fun to be creative with the shots.
Now Gustaf and I are heading out to town, I did not pack enough I guess:) I have started to pack light, this week too light:) when I mentioned to Gustaf that I was happy that I finally learned to pack light he kindly noted to me that there is no reason to pack light when I still have to go shop for everything on site. I guess that makes a sense… Either way, we are out for some shopping now!
