LPGA Teaching Seminar
29 September, 2011
This week is a busy one!! Wow, it is really like being back in school again. I am doing the LPGA teaching seminar to get my LPGA teaching certification. There are lots of stuff I already know but it is always interesting to be around different people to get many points of views and perspective on it. We are in the classroom in the mornings and then we head out on the practice tee in the afternoons to do some practical work. It is interesting.
Tonight I was at Paiges house for a BBQ, good as usual. Taya, a friend from golf before was there too and we all had lots of fun catching up. Food, wine and friends are always a great combo! We just got back and I am ready to get some serious sleep. Today was a bit draining…I started with an interview at 6.30 this morning…then headed out to the seminar. I did not sleep very well last night since I woke up at 1.30, thinking it was time to get up. I am not sure why I did not look at the clock at first but I was laying in bed sort of half snoozing for about 15 minutes before I checked the time and realized that I could without no problem go back to sleep again! At least I did not get up and shower and got ready, which has happened before!
The weather here in Phoenix is getting so comfortable! It is actually only about 80 or so in the mornings and just below 100 at daytime. It is getting to be the perfect golfing weather:)
Back in Scottsdale!

Travels back to Phoenix was fairly smooth…I almost missed my flight in Las Vegas since I thought boarding was at 8p and not the actual departing time…good thing my gate was on the way to Starbucks and I saw that they were boarding the stand by’s…needless to say that when you miss your boarding spot with Southwest there is nothing to do than to accept the crappy middle seat…it was ok tho. I slept most of the way. My bags got there alright and I was back home again around 10p. I was very tired and fell asleep almost right away!
It feels pretty unreal being back here and not going out to the course grinding it out. Today I have gotten lots done…errands, studying and making necessary connections. Good stuff coming my way!
Tomorrow I will study and run in the morning and then spend the afternoon looking at houses with a friend who is looking for houses for her brother…long shot I know but I love to do that stuff so I am excited.
This weekend I have two golfgames lined up:) I will totally become a weekend golfer without a doubt!
I will also this weekend go and get some plants for my condo! I have not had real plants for years as I have always been on the road and they always die along the way. Now I can finally have some amazingly smelling flowes in my condo and care for them with unconditional love! I will take pics along the way and post online.
Now I better go get something to eat so that I will have enough energy for my pm run!
Toodeloo!!
I am done;)

Tomorrow I go back to Phoenix from Prattville. This week has been great, even tho an emotional roller coaster. This was my last week of play and I have to admit that it got a little emotional on Friday as I was putting on the last hole.
The decision feels right. Many of the girls, caddies and staffers out here have said their goodbyes and good lucks thru the week and I have been fairly prepared for it but I actually did not think I was going to be emotinal about it the last hole. Luckily I have some aswesome friends here who were ready with kleenex and then some laughter:) Thanks to everyone who have been there for me this week and prior to this week.
So what else has been going on…? Well as usual I met some amazing people in the ProAms and hopefully there will be time to cram in a lunch before with Andi and Roy before I head out to Phoenix tomorrow. Andi played in my ProAm group on Wednesday and her husband Roy was there to support and actually sponsored the group!
On Friday Paige and I went to a local pizza place, had some food and wine and then Karin came over and joined us. Great laughter and great times! Tonight we went over to some friends housing and had a bbq, it was great food, company and amazingly funny stories! Gosh I will miss my friends out here! They are truly my best friends that I have shared lots of time and experiences with.
My plans for the fall and my next few months is to continue to study all the things that I want to learn, doing company days (clinics etc),
My last event.

As the news is out in the open now in cyberspace I thought I would write a quick note about the information that has spread. It is true that I am retiring from tournament play. This will be my last week out on tour and I am really excited about the new adventures to come.
I love the game too much to continue to hate it out here. I have so much fun thru the week leading up to the tournament start and then I wish I did not have to compete. My passion for the game has driven me towards the teaching, coaching and fitness side of golf and that is the path that I will go. For the past year I have spent quite a bit of time studying and I am in the midst of getting dfferent certifications such as LPGA teaching certification as well as TPI certifications.
This is all I will write about it now as I am getting ready to head out for my first roun this week. I will soak it all in and I have spent the last couple of weeks saying good bye to my amazing friends out here on tour. It is bittersweet but actually a fairly easy decision for me.
I will update more thru the week but want to take the oppurtunity to thank everyone for their support thru the years! It has meant a lot!
Lots of love.
