Portland, Oregon
18 August, 2010
We have now been in Portland since Sunday night, and it has been a pretty hectic week so far. Hectic in a good way!

On Monday I played in a Pro-Am on the tournament course. We all had a grest time and tied for first, but in a tie they go back on the scorecard from 18 and compare to determine the winner we ended up in 4th just out of the prices for the amateurs. Darn! We had a great time though!! Thanks for round of really fun stories (I know not to drive my Jag thru a carwas…) and thanks for the wine that was in my locker today!!!! What a treat:)
At night we were really tired since we still had some jetlag left from the trip back from Sweden, so an early night was a must! We are staying with good friends of ours this week. I have known them for about 10 years and they are just really wonderful people. Thanks guys for letting us stay with you this week!
Tuesday was a practice day. It was warm!! So to beat the heat I teed off a little after 7am and we were done by lunch time. Gustaf is not caddying for me anymore, so these two upcoming weeks I have a guy named Rick on the bag. He has worked for me before and we work well together. Gustaf is caddying for Sophie Gustafson and she did not get in until Thursday nigt so he has been doing a lot of preparation work instead. At night when we had dinner there was a knock on the door…it was the neighbors to the friends we are staying with. Apparently there had been a potential burglary in their house while they were away for two days. It was pretty scary stuff since they thoght they were still in he house. Mind you that we are in a very nice and quiet neighborhood so this should not be happening here. The police got here and eventually the security company as well. Of course, if the burglers were in there at the time they came home they were all gone by the time the police searched the house. They did not find anything but an open window with broken shutters. The next day they also saw some footsteps below the window. Who knows what has really happened…nothing is missing from their house at least.

Wednesday was the first official Pro-Am day here at the Safeway Classic. I was in the Thursday Pro-Am so Wednesday was just a practice day for me. In the afternoon I did a clinic for The First Tee as well as a small section for the Golf Channel. It is just so rewarding to be able to spend some time with kids and play some gofl.Today (Thursday) was my official Pro-Am round. We had so much fun in my group!! It was really 18 holes of laughter, joking and just a plain good time! Thanks you guys for a fun preparation day for me for the tournament!!
Now I am beat and ready for bed. Wish me luck!
