Rain, putts and midsummer
26 June, 2010
We teed off first off this morning at 7 am. Now that is an early wake up call! When the alarm went off this morning I said to Gustaf “Who is calling us in the middle of the night”…then Gustaf said “that is the wake up alarm.” I could not believe the night was already over (or I guess it was not really since it was 4.30a!).
I barely knew where I had all the bodyparts, that’s how tired I was. Of course, Starbucks is not open that early but that was ok I though because they would have on the course for us. Well, when we got to the course everything except the locker rooms were closed…are you kidding? No breakfast, clubstorage closed, me hungry and tired. So what to do…well there was some bread in the locker room so I made a couple of peanut butter sandwiches that we ate…not the best way to start they day, without proper breakfast but you make the best of it.
My round today was by far not the best one in some time…I had bad distance control in my putting and it makes it difficult when you have to save the pars all the time. I only had two birdies today…I did not hit the ball as well as I have been lately. I know what it is I am doing but it is hard to make those swings on the course and trusting it.
We were lucky with the weather since it started raining about 1 hours after we got done. And now it is pouring down! Good thing I got some practice in before the worst rain got here.
So I have been trying to get an ipad, but the apple store here in Rochester are all out. Then I called one of the stores that is close to where we will play the US Open if thy could hold one for me until when we get there, I would of course be happy to pay over the phone…well they don’t do that…they only hold for a maximum of 24 hours…darn…hope they still have by the time we get there so I can buy one. I really want one before we head back to Sweden so I don’t have to bring my laptop.

Last night we had a midsummers party at our house for the week. It was a good turnout, there were 15 people over here and we had all the traditional foods (except for a few things we could not get). We even danced around the midsummer pole! Here is an article (in Swedish) that was written about our celebration: www.golf.se And here is another one (in english) www.golfdigest.com
Tonight I think Gustaf and I will go to the movies and then maybe get dinner at Outback or something. We have not seen a movie in a long time and it is always a nice way to spend a rainy afternoon/night.
For now I will relax and take a shower. I am beat!
